A handfull of fresh mint leaves goes in a covered pot with 1 liter 80° alcohol . You leave it macerate for 2 weeks; after that you prepare a syrup of 250 ml water and 250 g sugar (by boiling it until it gets a syrup consistency). When the syrup is cool you combine it with the filtered macerate and stir it well. You take 1-2 tablespoons of it before meals.
Prepared with a double quantity of leaves , the same syrup is used to calm palpitations (one tablespoon), in tooth aches, rheumatic aches as in fighting rash too.
Being in the full glory of the mosquito season you might use this ADVICE: Mint, like many aromatics, planted near the widows is supposed to slow down their night attacks. If the harm is done and you get pricked, just rub one/two leaves , energetically, on the spot. You may also use parsley, Plantago or basil leaves – even for spider and other bugs who are trying to expand their territory. Tested with positive results for a wasp bite (ouch!!)
